Husband-wife duo Marino and Krissee have created something truly special and magical at their chocolate factory and cafe, River-Sea Chocolates. Open just over three years now, the idea for a bean-to-bar chocolate factory came to them after a family trip to their native Brazil. They both had just been laid off from corporate jobs and decided to take a trip to see the family in Brazil. At a picnic at Marino’s cousin’s farm one day, the kids started picking ripe cacao straight from the tree, and that’s when the idea for this sweet little cafe and chocolate factory was born. Now, it’s a thriving business supporting small farmers across the globe, importing cacao from the Amazon Basin to craft their luscious chocolates.
For Valentine’s Day this year, go beyond that 10-piece chocolate heart from the pharmacy and go to River-Sea Chocolates. Their hand-crafted chocolates melt in your mouth with a rich, creamy flavor you don’t get anywhere else. If you really want to go all out, grab a chocolate making class to make some sweet memories! You can make a chocolate bomb or a chocolate bar. Maybe even splurge on a private chocolate tasting for just the two of you. Either way, know it’s a sweet gesture that will be so very appreciated. And, each purchase you make goes to supporting sustainability efforts in the Amazon Basin, so you can feel good about your purchase. << Back To Blogs
