For good community fun, head to the Lake Anne Cardboard Boat Regatta hosted by the Reston Historic Trust and Museum and cheer on your fellow Reston residents competing for the prize. This year, the event will take place on August 10th with nearly 70 teams hitting the water with their handcrafted cardboard-only boat creations. The teams are broken into heats with tons of races taking place throughout the day, kicking off at 1:00 p.m., and culminating at the end of the day with a special awards ceremony. You can check out the video on their website for all the highlights from last year’s event to get an idea of what you’ll experience. It’s free to attend, so even if you only stop by for a race or two, it’s great fun!
Looking to get more involved? While registration for the race has closed, there are still opportunities to volunteer for the event! << Back To Blogs
