While its name suggests an old-time country getaway, folks who know The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole¬†will tell you that it is actually a state-of-the-art water park. The facility, which is operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority, is designed to allow visitors of all ages to swim, relax, and play in the water in whatever way suits them best. Have little ones? Head on over to Tenderfoot Pond, a splash pad with tot-sized pools and fountains. Older kids should check out Boomtown, a water-themed playground, or the action-packed Box Canyon Crossing obstacle course. If thrill-seeking strikes your fancy, check out the three-story waterslides at Prospector’s Plummet. Or just chill out in a tube on the lazy river that stretches almost 725 feet.¬†

Admission for guests over 4 feet tall is $16.50 on weekends, $15.50 on weekdays, with littler ones paying just $12.75. Group reservation rates are also available for parties and outings.
