If the dialogue you hear during The Wolves at NextStop Theatre sounds authentic and almost unscripted, there’s a reason. For one thing, the play follows a group of teenage girls, and first-time playwright Sarah DeLappe was one not too many years ago. Secondly, the production team chose to cast local teenage actresses who were relatively new to the scene.
The combination creates a believable narrative about suburban teenagers and the trials and tribulations they face. The play takes place as female friends warm up for soccer practice every day, and the frank discussions they have are as far-ranging as they are enlightening. The Wolves is playing at NextStop Theatre through February 24th and does contain some adult content, so it may not be appropriate for all family members. Tickets start at $35.
